NYC's Health Care Affordability Crisis: City and Community Based Solutions (Community Service Society)

More than three quarters of New Yorkers are burdened by unaffordable health care, and nearly three-quarters are worried about future care costs. Recently, New York City announced NYC Care, a bold plan to address affordability by expanding health care to all New York.

Join us on April 29 for a panel moderated by New York State Health Foundation's David Sandman and featuring:

-NYC Health + Hospitals President and CEO Dr. Mitch Katz to discuss NYC Care

-Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation Director of Legal Services Rodrigo Sanchez-Camus to discuss the power and responsiveness of community groups

-NYC Council Member Mark Levine, Health Committee Chair, to discuss how the council can respond to NYC's health affordability crisis

-Community Service Society of New York VP of Health Initiatives Elisabeth Benjamin to discuss a new healthcare affordability survey and new initiatives at the city level to address patient activation around issues of healthcare affordability, patient empowerment, cultural competence, and respect for people of color, immigrants and the LGBT population
